Precision Measurement and Inspection of Customer Components
Having a fully equipped and operational measurement and inspection showroom enables Metrology Direct to offer a comprehensive range of measurement services. Our facility is climate controlled and many calibrated systems we are able to meet the exacting demands of manufacturing metrology specialist.
Companies use our measurement services for many different reasons. They may simply have an ad-hoc or periodic capacity shortfall or may need to measure features or characteristics for which they do not have the necessary equipment. These requirements often occur when companies are developing new products or making design changes that necessitate changes in measurement practices.
Metrology Direct is able to assist with small one off items or features, through to batch quantities of several hundred at a time. When additional equipment or resources are required, we can call upon these from any one of our measureshop™ partners.
Typical measurement and inspection tasks undertaken include:
- Surface roughness including waviness
- Contour measurement
- Form and roundness measurement
- Vision and video measurement
- Non-contact shaft measurement
- Coordinate (CMM) measurement
- Force measurement
- Microscopy with image capture
Measurement Reports
Measurement tasks are undertaken in accordance with our ISO9001 procedures and included in the service is the production of printed and electronic measurement reports. Most of our systems have SPC software installed and therefore data can be provided in many different formats. SPC is a specialist area for Metrology Direct and data compatibility with our customers is very important to us. Basic data formats such as .csv and Excel are also commonly provided.
