Aftersales Support

Maximising uptime, efficiency and accuracy of their measurement and inspection equipment is a business critical requirement of many modern manufacturing facilities. Through a centrally located Technical Centre, Metrology Direct works closely with all its customers to ensure these fundamental requirements are realised.

Service Agreements

Routine, preventative maintenance is critical to maximising equipment uptime and forms part of Metrology Direct’s comprehensive service agreement packages. Maintenance is undertaken during calibration visits to ensure that systems remain in good condition. Effective maintenance helps sustain measurement accuracy and reduces the risk of periodic system failures. Metrology Direct’s policy is to support everything that it supplies and part of the strategy is to offer service agreements on all systems and equipment. These are tailored to suit individual customer needs and usually include the following essential elements:

  • Telephone support
  • 24 hour on-site response
  • Labour costs
  • Periodic calibration
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Breakdown cover
  • Software upgrades

System Calibration

Calibrations are performed by factory trained engineers in accordance with manufacturers approved procedures. They are undertaken according to

ISO9001 certification and are made using certified DKD/UKAS artefacts. CRM software manages calibration schedules avoiding the risk of systems being used with expired or obsolete certificates.

Repairs

Repairs are made at customer sites and at the Gloucester Technical Centre, where trained engineers are available to attend equipment breakdowns. Customers with current service agreements are afforded priority attention and Metrology Direct endeavours to provide a 24 hour on-site response time. Portable equipment is usually returned to Gloucester, where there is a fully equipped workshop. Repairs and overhauls are undertaken on a variety of systems, including Hommel-Movomatic inprocess gauge heads.
